  14. High speed connections will only work on Macs with a 68030 or greater.
  15. Make sure you have a Hardware Handshaking cable.
  16. Make sure you are using the modem port on the Mac.
  17. Make sure you have selected "CTS Only" for Hardware Handshaking.
  18. Make sure you are using the "at&f1" init string.
  19.  
  20. What I beleive is happening is that you have a form or handshaking other
  21. than 'CTS only' and your software is causing DTR to go low and this is
  22. causing the modem to think the connection has been dropped and is hanging
  23. up.
